D’ORIO, PARE MAKE FINAL CENTRAL SCOUTING RANKINGS

VAL-D’OR, QC – Goaltender Alex D’Orio and forward Cedric Pare remain among the top prospects for the 2017 NHL Draft on a final rankings list released today.

The NHL’s Central Scouting Service (CSS) unveiled its North American rankings of the top 31 goaltenders and 217 skaters available. D’Orio and Pare each made their respective lists after being recognized in midterm rankings.

D’Orio is the 13th-ranked goaltender in North America, and one of only two from the QMJHL to make the list.

The 17-year-old from Sherbrooke played 28 games in his rookie season with Saint John, posting a record of 19-2-1-1, along with a 2.40 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage. He participated in the 2017 Sherwin-Williams CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in Quebec City in January.

Pare is listed 146th among North American skaters.

The centre from Pintendre, Quebec, who turned 18 in January, posted five goals and 16 points in 64 games in his first full season with the Sea Dogs. He has one goal and one assist in six playoff games so far this season.

Prospects Shane Bowers (16th), Ben Mirageas (63rd) and Morgan Barron (98th) are also listed.

The 2017 NHL Draft will be held June 23-24 at the United Center in Chicago.
