D’ORIO, REGINATO WIN STUDENT AND PLAYER OF THE MONTH

SAINT JOHN – The Saint John Sea Dogs are proud to announce goaltender Alex D’Orio and forward Cole Reginato have been named the student and player of the month for January, 2017.

D’Orio, 17, is the Swagelok Student of the Month.

Alex is a student who remains focused despite all of his hockey and school commitments. The Sherbrooke-native has maintained a positive attitude and is determined to earn his high school diploma from Centre Scolaire Samuel-de-Champlain. His teachers love his positive attitude and his willingness to work hard. That work paid off as he finished his first semester with a strong 85% average in his three courses.

On the ice, D’Orio went 2-0 in four games played. He also represented Team Orr at the 2017 Sherwin-Williams CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.

Reginato, 19, is the Irving Oil Player of the Month.

The native of Mira River, Nova Scotia, posted two goals and seven points along with a +2 rating in eleven games last month, while continuing to play his energetic, aggressive style. Highlights included a goal and an assist in a 7-2 victory over the Moncton Wildcats on January 17th, and another goal and assist in a 5-2 win over the Charlottetown Islanders on January 29th.
