The creation of the Sea Dogs Hall of Fame was announced last summer. Announced at the same time was the Hall’s first inductee – the 24-year-old Huberdeau. He was selected for induction by an esteemed panel of Sea Dogs stakeholders.

A first-round pick of Saint John in the 2009 QMJHL Entry Draft, Huberdeau helped the Sea Dogs win the club’s first President Cup and Memorial Cup championships in 2010-11 in his second season in the league. The following year, Huberdeau captained the Dogs to their second straight QMJHL championship.

Huberdeau was a key contributor to the club’s historic success between 2009 and 2012, which featured three regular season titles; three trips to the President Cup final; two President Cup championships; two Memorial Cup appearances; and a Memorial Cup championship.

Huberdeau is the team’s all-time leading scorer with 257 points and sits second in goals (104) and assists (153). His trophy case includes the 2011 Memorial Cup Most Valuable Player honour; the team’s MVP award in 2011; and back-to-back Fans Choice Awards in 2011 and 2012.

The third overall pick in the 2011 NHL Draft, Huberdeau has been a regular with the Panthers since the 2012-13 season, accumulating 95 goals and 172 assists in 385 NHL games. He won the league’s Calder Trophy as rookie of the year in 2013.

This special evening will also recognize the 2016-17 President Cup champion Saint John Sea Dogs team with a ring ceremony.
