Saint John held on for the first 13 minutes of the game, but it unraveled in a hurry. At 13:31, Fournier put in the opening goal of the game with only one second remaining in the Mooseheads man advantage.

Just 12 seconds later, Ryan extended the lead to 2-0 Halifax with his first of the night.

Fournier held Dogs in the game in the first as they were outshot 16-4 in the opening frame.

A last second penalty in the first gave the Moose a power play to start the second period and they capitalized, again with only seconds remaining. At 1:54 of the frame, with only 5 seconds remaining in the man advantage, Ciampini put home the goal to make it 3-0.

Ryan scored his second of the night at 7:29.

Andrews tallied at 13:34 of the second to make it 5-0 and Ashley potted the final Halifax goal at 14:16 with a power play goal.
