SEA DOGS HANDCUFFED IN LOSS TO ARMADA
BOISBRIAND – Maxime Collin scored a hat trick and Alex Barre-Boulet added two goals as the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada defeated the Saint John Sea Dogs, 5-1, Friday at Centre d’Excellence Sports Rousseau.

Nick Deakin-Poot had the only goal for Saint John (11-23-6-2), which lost its fifth straight.
The Sea Dogs finished the night with 12 shots on goal, tying the team record for fewest shots in a game.

The Armada opened the scoring more than seven minutes into the game when Collin potted the rebound of a Thomas Ethier shot from in close.
Barre-Boulet made it a 2-0 game with a power play goal three minutes later.
The league’s leading scorer was parked in the bottom of the right circle when he took a pass from the left side of the crease and rifled a wrister into an open cage, past a helpless Alex D’Orio.
Collin struck again with six minutes left in the period, finishing off a give-and-go with Alexandre Alain with a heavy wrister from the left side of the slot, which beat D’Orio over his glove.
There was no scoring in the second period.
Blainville-Boisbriand enjoyed 1:24 of 5-on-3 power play time early in the frame, but could not extend their lead.
Barre-Boulet buried his second of the night more than four minutes into the third.
The 20-year-old took a pass in the slot, got around a Saint John defender, deked past D’Orio and tucked the puck inside the left post.
Armada goalie Emile Samson passed a big test halfway through the third period in the form of a 2-on-1.
Saint John’s Cedric Pare carried the puck down the left wing and fed a pass across the ice to Ostap Safin. The Edmonton Oilers’ prospect snapped a one-timer on goal that Samson denied with his left leg.
The Sea Dogs broke the rookie netminder’s shutout bid with under five minutes to go.
Deakin-Poot won the race to a potential icing call to the right of the Blainville-Boisbriand goal. He attempted to centre the puck from the trapezoid behind the net, but it bounced off the back of Samson’s right leg and rolled inside the right post.
A Sea Dog power play with under two minutes remaining prompted Saint John to pull D’Orio to create a 6-on-4 advantage.
Collin concluded the scoring with a shorthanded empty-netter with 3.6 seconds remaining.
Samson got the win with 11 saves. D’Orio took the loss in a 36-save performance.
Collin’s hat trick made him first star while Barre-Boulet’s two goals prompted a second-star selection. Batherson picked up an assist to earn third star in front of 2,337 fans in attendance.
