SEA DOGS NAME THREE NEW ALTERNATE CAPTAINS

SAINT JOHN – The Saint John Sea Dogs have announced forward Stephen Anderson and defencemen Olivier LeBlanc and Michael Abbott have been named the next alternate captains as part of the team’s captaincy rotation this season.

They replace Jason Cameron, Oliver Cooper and David Weckworth, who all wore A’s to start the season.

Anderson, 18, is in his third season with the Sea Dogs.

In 11 games, the Morell, P.E.I., native has four goals and eight points.

LeBlanc, 17, from Quebec City, Quebec, has three goals and eight points in 11 games in his second season in Saint John.

Abbott, 19, of St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, is the Sea Dogs’ leading scorer with four goals and ten points in nine games.

The club is rotating three alternate captains on a monthly basis this season. Under the system, the team has not named a full-time captain.

Saint John’s next game is against the Moncton Wildcats on Wednesday, October 16th, at 7 p.m. at Harbour Station. Tickets are available at the Harbour Station box office, online at tickets.harbourstation.ca, or by calling 657-1234. The game can be heard live on News 88.9 FM.
