SAINT JOHN – The Saint John Sea Dogs have recalled forwards Isiah Campbell and Matthew Pietroniro from the Lac St-Louis Lions of the Quebec Midget AAA Hockey League.
Campbell, 16, recorded 15 goals and 25 points in 22 games in his second season with the Lions. The native of Pierrefonds, Quebec, made his Sea Dogs debut December 1st, recording one shot on goal in a 3-2 victory over the Shawinigan Cataractes.
Listed at 6’2″ and 194 lbs., he was selected by the Sea Dogs in the third round (51st overall) of the 2016 QMJHL Entry Draft.
Pietroniro, 17, posted nine goals, 20 points and 122 penalty minutes in 32 games in his second season in Lac St-Louis. The product of Ste-Anne-de-Bellvue, Quebec, made his Saint John debut on January 8th in a 2-1 triumph over the Halifax Mooseheads.
Listed at 6’1″ and 209 lbs., Pietroniro was acquired from the Quebec Remparts on December 18th, in the trade that brought goalie Callum Booth to the Sea Dogs. He was selected by Quebec in the eighth round (137th overall) of the 2015 QMJHL Entry Draft.
Both players are scheduled to join the Sea Dogs in time for Friday’s game against the Charlottetown Islanders at 7 p.m. at Eastlink Centre.
