SEA DOGS RECALL F MATTHEW PIETRONIRO

SAINT JOHN – The Saint John Sea Dogs have recalled forward Matthew Pietroniro from the the Lac St-Louis Lions of the Quebec Midget AAA Hockey League (LHMAAAQ).

The 17-year-old native of Ste-Anne-de-Bellvue, Quebec, has eight goals and 17 points in 23 games in his second season with the Lions.

Pietroniro was acquired from the Quebec Remparts in the December 18th trade that also brought goalie Callum Booth to Saint John. Listed at 6’1″ and 209 lbs., he was selected by Quebec in the eighth round (137th overall) of the 2015 QMJHL Entry Draft.

He is expected to be available to play in today’s game against Halifax, and then return to Lac St-Louis on Monday.
