ZBORIL AND CHABOT TO PLAY IN TOP PROSPECTS GAME

TORONTO, ON – Saint John Sea Dogs defencemen Jakub Zboril and Thomas Chabot have been selected to participate in the 2015 BMO CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game next month.

The Canadian Hockey League unveiled today the two competing rosters for the game, which will be played on January 22nd, 2015, in St.Catharines, Ontario.

Zboril and Chabot were among forty top prospects from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Ontario Hockey League and Western Hockey League, selected to take part.

The game serves as a showcase for players eligible for the 2015 NHL Draft.

Zboril, 17, is scheduled to play for Team Cherry, coached by legendary hockey broadcaster and former NHL head coach, Don Cherry.

Zboril is in his first season with the Sea Dogs. The Brno, Czech Republic, native has seven goals and 21 points in thirty games with Saint John. He was ranked an ‘A’ skater in the NHL Central Scouting Service’s “Players to Watch” list for November, meaning he is viewed as a potential first-round pick.

Chabot, 17, is slated to suit up for Team Orr, coached by Hockey Hall of Famer, Bobby Orr.

Chabot, from Ste-Marie-de-Beauce, Quebec, has seven goals and 22 points in 31 games in his second season with Saint John. He was ranked as a ‘B’ skater in November’s “Players to Watch” list, meaning he is viewed as a potential second- or third-round draft pick.

The 2015 NHL Draft will be held June 26-27 at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida.
