The Saint John Sea Dogs have acquired gritty forward Marshall Lessard in a trade with the Val d’Or Foreurs. The 19 year old from Sherbrook, QC, has played nine games this season, netting 7 goals and 11 points. 


The Sea Dogs also received a 2022 3rd round pick (Val d’Or) and a 2024 6th round pick (Val d’Or) in the trade. The Foreurs receive prospect Francis Woods, Saint John’s third round pick in the 2021 QMJHL Draft, as well as a 2022 1st round pick (Charlottetown), 2023 4th round pick (Saint John), 2023 5th round pick (Saint John), 2023 6th round pick (Saint John), and a 2024 10th round pick (Saint John).

Lessard was a first round selection (16th overall) by Val d’Or in the 2018 QMJHL Draft. The 5’10” 190 lb winger has 39 goals and 73 points in his 117 games with the Foreurs.
