SUBWAY GAME RECAP: Sea Dogs Face the Titan in Back-and-Forth OT Loss

Joseph Henneberry scored 1:13 into overtime to give the Acadie-Bathurst Titan (17-33-5-3) a 6-5 win over the Saint John Sea Dogs (20-36-2-1) in an exciting back-and-forth affair on Saturday afternoon.
Dylan Andrews led the Titan with a goal and two assists in the win while Ethan Dickson and Dominik Godin had a goal and an assist each.
Cole Burbidge and Brady Burns each had a goal and an assist for the Sea dogs while Nathan Casey and Eriks Mateiko had two assists each.
Joshua Fleming picked up the win for the Titan making 29 saves while Ventsislav Shingarov made 31 stops in the Sea dogs net.

The Titan opened the scoring 2:19 into the game as Andrews threw a puck on net that Shingarov batted down with his glove and Godin banged home the rebound to make it 1-0.
Just 2:33 after, Dickson intercepted a breakout pass from the Sea Dogs for a chance in alone where he was stopped but Andrews put home the rebound this time to put the Titan up 2-0.
Noah Reinhart responded 2:08 later to cut the lead to 2-1.
The Sea Dogs then went to work on the powerplay where Burbidge drove to the net and appeared to hit the crossbar, but the play was reviewed and deemed that he hit the back of the net to tie the game at 2-2.
Saint John continued to swarm the Titan net and just 16 seconds later Peter Reynolds found the puck amidst a scramble and buried it to give the Sea dogs the 3-2 lead.
With just under four minutes to play in the first, the Sea Dogs struck again as Burns came out of the box to a breakaway pass and made no mistake to beat Fleming and give Saint John the 4-2 lead after 20 minutes.
Shots after the first were 14-12 for the Titan.
Just over four minutes into the second, Andrews got in behind the Sea Dogs defense for a breakaway only for Shingarov to slam his pads shut to keep the puck out.
A minute later Godin tried to jam the puck in at the right side of the Saint John net. He was denied but the puck squirted out to Nolan Forster who found an opening past Shingarov to cut the Sea Dogs lead to 4-3.
The Sea Dogs quickly restored their two-goal lead though as just 12 seconds later Casey threw the puck towards the net from the corner and Jacob Beaulieu got a piece of it to deflect it past Fleming and make it 5-3.
With just under five minutes to go in the second, William Bishop made a great rush down the left wing to put a shot on net and the rebound bounced all the way out to the high slot where Dickson gathered it, turned and fired his first QMJHL goal top shelf on Shingarov to make it 5-4.
Just 2:14 later, with the Titan on the powerplay, Ben Allison drove the net from the right half-boards and jammed the puck under Shingarov to tie the game 5-5 heading into the third period.
Shots after the second were 30-18 for the Titan.
With eight and a half minutes to play, the Sea Dogs almost took the lead as Reynolds and Vince Élie came down on a short-handed 2-on-1, but Reynolds could not get enough of Élie’s pass to put it home.
Acadie-Bathurst got a short-handed chance of their own a few minutes later as Forster was sprung all alone for a breakaway, but Shingarov stayed with him and made another solid save.
The third remained scoreless and the game went to overtime.
Shots after the third were 36-32 for Acadie-Bathurst.
Just 1:13 into overtime, Henneberry skated up the right wing and fired a shot through a Sea Dogs defender and under the blocker of Shingarov to win the game 6-5 for the Titan.
