Thank you Saint John. Yesterday, on a cold winter night, you came out and showed the warmth, heart, and resilience that this city is known for.
With TD so generously investing to bring Classified and the Sea Dogs together for a music and hockey spectacle, we were well on our way to a sold out crowd when we found out late, and with thousands already in the building, that our opponent, the Halifax Mooseheads were not going to make it to town.
For most communities, that would have been an absolute disaster and meant the end of a night, but not yesterday, and not for Saint John. You Saint John, stayed and partied. No opponent, no problem said the Port City. You were gracious, and understanding, and on your feet singing and cheering. You helped create a moment that I know Classified, our young Sea Dogs players, TD, and I will never forget.
To all of you that packed TD Station and stayed for the Classified show, the blue and white game, and the shootout competition, your energy was incredible.
To all those who braved the elements, to the staff and volunteers at TD Station who rolled with the punches, to Classified and his team who were absolute pros, to the ever so generous folks at TD, and to our remarkable fans – from the bottom of my heart, and from everybody here at the Sea Dogs, THANK YOU.
