Thank you Saint John.
Despite these challenging times, there is so much to be grateful for. First and foremost, thank you to the community for banding together for our 16th season and getting through these hard times.
Although there were major obstacles, the Sea Dogs were one of only six teams out of 60 in the CHL to welcome fans to our games. We had the privilege of playing 39 games in front of a crowd, including 19 live events at our home, TD Station. A total of 28,028 people passed through the doors of TD Station to safely watch live hockey, and even though things were a little different due to restrictions, we did our best to entertain you. It was certainly complicated at times and things changed day by day (like most things this past year), but you stuck with us, and for that we are so appreciative.
Thank you to you: our fans, our sponsors, our billet families, our team staff, and everyone else who helped make this season possible.
A very special thank you to our players, mostly teenagers, who did their best to stay focused on the sport that they love and entertain you night after night–despite all the challenges, all the uncertainty, and all the sacrifices.
Although 2020 and 2021 may be remembered for all the challenges in the world, we hope that some of you find a place in your mind and heart to file away some positive memories. Memories of smiling at Sea Dogs debuts, cheering loudly for goals and even a few hat tricks, and rising out of your seat to celebrate a big win. There is always room for some positive thoughts.
Thank you to everyone for making this 2020-2021 season possible. Next season will be a big year for the QMJHL and for your Sea Dogs as the Memorial Cup returns to our league.
